The veterinarian authorities of Benin have confirmed the presence of African swine fever in the country. Date of previous occurrence was September 2005.

The outbreak is located in Parakou (Parakou), at the same location than in 2005 according to the OIE, with 29 pigs susceptible out of which seven cases were reported.
