During the mission, VLAM, the Federal Agency for Food Safety (FASFC), Boerenbond, FEBEV, and the China Meat Association organised a seminar entitled "How disease control keeps African Swine Fever out of Belgian farms". The content of this seminar - in which Belgians and Chinese participated - was complemented by the presence of experts such as CVO Heymans and Professor Dewulf. The seminar clearly demonstrated the daily efforts of the sector to meet the highest biosecurity standards as well as Belgium's additional efforts following the reports of African swine fever in wild boars. The objective of the seminar was to contribute to the reopening of the market for pork, beef and chicken. Important progress was made during the mission and in the future we will have to continue to invest ourselves.
