Ksenia Meleshko, head of the Main Directorate for Foreign Economic Activity at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, told reporters that Belarus has long been fully self-sufficient in food.
"Our self-sufficiency rate for meat, based on domestic production, is around 140%—a high figure. We not only fully meet domestic demand, but we are also actively developing exports, as meat products contribute to the growth of foreign exchange earnings in the country,” she said.

Over the past five years, Belarus has significantly increased its exports: export volume has grown by over 40% from 2020 to 2025.
“At the same time, we plan to further increase exports, focusing on high-value-added products—namely boneless beef, meat and sausage products, semi-finished products, and canned meat. It is precisely these products that allow our producers to reap greater benefits,” noted the head of the main department.
