The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the amendment to Order APA/861/2024, which extends INTERPORC's (the Interprofessional Pig Association's) agreement to the entire swine sector, to strengthen industry activities in the face of the threat of African swine fever (ASF). INTERPORC requested this amendment due to the appearance of ASF in Spain at the end of 2025, which has created a serious crisis in the industry.

According to the new Order APA/364/2026, of 15 April, from May 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026, the mandatory financial contribution for the production and slaughter of pigs will be significantly increased. The production contribution will rise to €0.265 per live adult pig during this exceptional period, compared to the previous €0.055. The same will apply to the financial contribution for slaughter and marketing.

INTERPORC had proposed this modification at its Extraordinary General Assembly in February 2026, in order to intensify the sector's efforts to prevent the spread of ASF and guarantee the competitiveness and sustainability of livestock production in Spain.
