South Korea: First ASF outbreaks of the year in domesticated pigs

So far three ASF outbreaks on pig farms have been reported in 2021.

On August 8, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) reported a new outbreak of African swine fever on a pig farm (about 2,400 pigs) in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do. This was followed by additional confirmation in an epidemiologically linked farm in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do on August 16. These were the second and the third outbreak in domestic pigs in 2021 with the previous in early May.
