Argentina - Record soya harvest

The production of soya in the 2009/2010 season will mark a new record of production, and could reach 54.5 million tonnes due to the high performance of the crop, according to the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange.

The production of soya in the 2009/2010 season will mark a new record of production, and could reach 54.5 million tonnes due to the high performance of the crop, according to the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange.

The Exchange indicated that historic averages had been registered in 27.5% of the 19 million hectares harvested in the central zone of the crop.

The Ministry of Agriculture has calculated that the soya harvest will be between 51 and 55 million tonnes.
