According to a report written by the consultancy Investigaciones Económicas Sectoriales (IES), pork production has risen by 7.4% during the first seven months of 2015.

Regarding consumption, it has doubled in the last ten years, going from 5.8 kg per capita in 2004 to 10.7 kg per capita in 2014, and it has currently reached the record figure of 11.1 kg per capita.
