Animal health cooperation agreement between Colombia and the USA

The ICA from Colombia and the CEEZAD from the USA will sign an animal health cooperation agreement.

Mr. Juergen Ritch, from the Center of Excellence for Emerging and Zoonotic Animal Diseases (CEEZAD), the University of Kansas and representatives of the ICA met to work in a project for a framework agreement for the investigation of animal and zoonotic diseases such as avian influenza, classical swine fever, equine encephalitis and other important diseases for public health, animal health and the environment.

This cooperation agreement is aimed at promoting the investigation of animal cross-border diseases, and it includes training, diagnosis, molecular detection, tests and the development of vaccines, epidemiology, hazards analysis, exchange of information, and investigation, among other activities tending towards the strengthening of animal health in the country.
