martinipicLast July, MARTINI SPA and PIC Italy signed the renewal of their agreement for the supply of genetic and technical cooperation up to 2019.

Dr. Fabio Martini commented: "The renewal of the contract with PIC at a time so complex for the national economy and for our industry in particular is an indication of Martini’s important strategies for reinforcing the presence of our company in the market in the medium to long term. It also demonstrates our intention to continue to be a point of reference for the entire pig industry with the aim of providing our consumers with the highest quality products at a fair price."

Dr. Avino, general manager of PIC Italy expressed his satisfaction for the renewal, commenting: "The renewed confidence of a market leader as demanding as the Martini is a source of pride and satisfaction and, in my opinion, is the award for the collaboration and work done by our technical service international and national teams and those Martini. The improvements in the technical data of recent years, in fact, show that when you share the objectives and mode of operation, you can achieve important results, bringing much satisfaction to the PIC that to their customers."

The MARTINI GROUP has been a leader in Italy in the food industry for nearly a century, overseeing all steps in the chain: laboratories, research centers, animal feed, breeding structures for various species, plants for slaughter and meat processing.

Martini, with more than 270 million Euros in sales (consolidated 2010), and with a production volume of more than 115,000 tons, is one of the most major Italian companies in the meat market .

The absolute leader in the pig meat sector (65 % of its production), it also ranks highly in the poultry market, devoting 28 % of its production to that realm. More marginally, as a share, but still of excellent quality, is the company's presence in the market of rabbit meat and bovine meat.
