CPF receives internationally recognized innovation management standard

CPF is the first organization in Thailand to receive this newly launched certificate, reflecting its status as the world’s leading company in agro-industry.

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited’s (CP Foods) Bangna km.21 Feed Mill is the first Thai operation that certified ISO 56002, an internationally recognized innovation management standard.

Recently, Mr. Siripong Aroonratana, Chief Operating Officer of the company, received the certification from Mrs. Punnee Angsusingha, President of Management System Certification Institute (Thailand) or MASCI at CP Tower Silom in Bangkok.

Mrs. Punnee explained that this new standard is initiated to provide a framework for a systematic innovation management, helping the organization to get the most benefit out of their own innovations.

She also praised CP Foods for actively and continuously driving the organizational development through innovation in accordance with the ISO 56002 standard. She noted that the company is the first organization in Thailand to receive this newly launched certificate from the institute, reflecting the company’s status as the world’s leading company in agro-industrial and food industries that are constantly boosting its competitiveness and promptly adopt to a global trend. The company is one of the country’s force driving the food industry towards Thailand 4.0.

Mr. Siripong thanks the company’s managements as well as all employees for their contribution in making a systematic process, helping the company to be an innovative organization.

“The standard is a way to help CP Foods to adapt to fast changing environment and create an innovative corporate culture as well as meeting consumer’s demand, creating added value for the business while helping to develop a sustainable society. Ultimately, this will lead organization to achieve the vision of "the kitchen of the world", said Mr. Siripong.

Since 2008, CP Foods has engrained innovative working culture within the organization. It has integrated new technologies to increase work efficiency. Also, It established the CP Foods’ CEO Award program to recognized those who have contributed to the innovation within the organization, resulting more than 45,000 innovations, including 294 works with Patents and Petty Patent .

The company has developed employees to be innovators according to the TRIZ approach. At present, the company has 1,020 innovators throughout the company. Additionally, it has collaborated with various sectors, especially academics, both in the country and abroad.

Notable collaborations are such as developing a test kit for Listeria monocytogenes bacteria with Srinakharinwirot University and developed human gut microbiome of Thai people in three different age ranges with Mahidol University, to build products for sustainable health for consumers at all ages. This is considered a food innovation which responds to the need of a sustainable society in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

The company established the CPF Food Research and Development Center to function as a modern, reliable, and effective driver of food industry development.
