CPF partners with Ministry of Labour to bolster economy with new hires

New graduates will be hired for roles in veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, and research to develop the company's smart farming and bolster Thailand's economy.

Ministry of Labour of Thailand and Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CP Foods) jointly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the employment of 8,000 new graduates, upskill franchisee of FiveStar Business and Discount Coupon from the Heart to Self-Insurance People Project in an attempt to curb unemployment and bolster economy for the post virus pandemic.

Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Labour permanent secretary, and Mr. Prasit Boondoungprasert, CEO at CP Foods, signed the MoU for the three projects in Bangkok. Witnessed the event included Labor Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin and Mr. Adirek Sripratak, CP Foods’ Chairman of the executive committee.

Mr. Suchart said the government has a policy to unite all sectors of the society to revive the economy from the coronavirus crisis that caused job cuts, leaving many unemployed, especially new graduates. He then added that CP Foods has been constantly supporting the government in Covid-19 relief effort since the beginning of the outbreak.

Under the MoU, CP Foods will hire 8,000 jobs, including 4,000 in Bangkok and metropolitan areas and 4,000 more in the upcountry, with job offers covering upstream through downstream business, such as veterinarian, animal husbandry, engineer, scientist, researcher, food and beverage service officer, and many positions in the computer science field to develop the company’s smart farming and smart factory.
