Coloured clothes pegs to identify the sow's production stage

The goal is to know the production stage of gestating sows in a quick and visual way.

The goal is to know the reproduction stage the gestating sows are in, quickly and visually by attaching a clothes peg to the sow's index card in a different position depending on:

-the sow is waiting to be inseminated,

-it is in its insemination period,

-has just been inseminated or has a positive ultrasound gestation diagnosis. This is an original idea by Lluís Planes and improved by Jesús Ureña and Carles Casanovas.

When coloured clothes pegs are used to identify the sows in each batch, that same peg can be used to determine the production stage of each particular sow. The position of the clothes peg will vary depending on if the sow is waiting to be inseminated, it is in its insemination period, has just been inseminated, or has a positive or negative ultrasound gestation diagnosis.

If the sow has not been mated yet we do not attach any clothes peg: this tells us that we must detect oestruses in all the sows without a clothes peg because their heat is pending.
Whilst the sow is being inseminated we will attach a clothes peg to the upper part of the index card: this will tell us that we must go on detecting the possible continuing oestrus of that sow.
Once the insemination is ended, we will put the clothes peg on one of the sides of the index card: this tells us that it is not necessary to go on inseminating this sow. We will have to identify a possible coming back into heat.
Once the sow is identified as having a positive ultrasound gestation test, we place the clothes peg on the bottom of the index card.
