As of December 1, there were 74.2 million hogs and pigs on U.S. farms, down 4% from December 2020 and down 1% from September 1, 2021. Of the 74.2 million hogs and pigs, 68.0 million were market hogs, while 6.18 million were kept for breeding. Between September and November 2021, 33.7 million pigs were weaned on U.S. farms, down 4% from the same time period one year earlier.
