United Kingdom - British performance continues to catch up with the continent

Pig production costs in Great Britain rose by 12 percent in 2008, against a European Union average increase of 24 percent, according to the latest BPEX cost of production report.

Pig production costs in Great Britain rose by 12 percent in 2008, against a European Union average increase of 24 percent, according to the latest BPEX cost of production report.

However, although the improvement in relative cost of production was in part due to improved physical performance, it was mainly down to the lower exchange rate.
