In 2016, the European pork exports reached 4,139,934 tonnes, which entails a increase by 22.9% with respect to 2015.

China stands out as the main destination, with 44.9% of the total volume (1,859,565 tonnes, +63% in comparison with 2015); followed, at a great distance, by Japan, with 9.7% (399,507 tonnes); Hong Kong, with 8.8% (362,319 tonnes); South Korea, with 6.3% (259,244 tonnes); and The Philippines, with 5.2% (215,696 tonnes).
