The Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus has lifted temporary African swine fever (ASF) restrictions on the supply of pig products, allowing two Russian enterprises from the Belgorod and Penza regions to once again export goods to Belarus.

According to FSIS "Argus", Russian organizations are increasing pig product exports to foreign markets. In 2021, they exported 124.7 thousand tons of pork. In 2022 this grew to 150.3 thousand tons and in 2023 there were 158.3 thousand tons exported.

Almost half of Russian pork product shipments in 2023 went to Belarus with 77.4 thousand tons or 49% of total exports.

From the beginning of the year to March 7, 25.2 thousand tons of pig products have been exported from Russia. This is an increase from the 22.8 thousand tons exported in the same period last year.
