The options for cooperation between both industries and the current situation of the pig sector in Chile and Kazakhstan were the main matters tackled during the meeting held by the Trade-Union Association of Pig Producers of Chile (ASPROCER) and the Eurasian's country Pig Association.

The meeting was held in the framework of the public-private Chilean mission that is making a tour in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to strengthen the commercial ties with Russia and make progress in the negotiation towards a comercial agreement with the EAEU.

In the meeting, the Kazakhstani representatives offered the possibility for the Chilean industry to make investments in their country because, as they said: “Producing pigs in Kazakhstan is very attractive due to its closeness to China, the greatest pork buyer in the world, and to the investment subsidies offered by the government.”
