Commerce Minister Porntiva Nakasai pointed out the rising price of pork was due to the economic crisis.

Current price of pork is higher than its real cost in the market as farmers raised fewer pigs for commercial purpose last summer.

Mrs. Porntiva said her ministry would look after the price in order to help shape it in an appropriate level.
