The new application allows one to calculate the contaminating emissions and the consumption of resources on a farm throughout the entire productive process, taking into account the techniques and procedures used in feeding the animals, the design and handling of the facilities, and the storage and processing of the manure and animal waste that is produced. Specifically, the farmers can determine the emissions of ammonia, methane and nitrous oxide on their farms, the manure and waste produced, as well as the concentration of nitrogen; they can also establish the capacity of manure storage of the farm and whether it is on par with what is needed for a favourable evaluation.
At the same time, it allows them to measure the quantity of nitrogen that is being introduced into the farm land by way of manure and if the dose is adequate, analyzing the environmental situation of the farms, and pointing out aspects that can be improved and the tools available to do it.
