Spain: increase in pig meat production

Pig meat production has increased by 3.28% during the first trimester of this year with respect to the first trimester of 2013 (945,488 vs. 915,426 tonnes).

The latest data on the slaughterings of livestock in the month of March show an increase in the production of pig meat by 3.28% during the first trimester of this year with respect to the first trimester of 2013 (945.488 vs. 915.426 tonnes). If we compare the production of meat of March 2014 with respect to March 2013, the increase has been by 15.75%.

With respect to the number of slaughterings, during the first trimester of this year a total of 11,011,229 heads have been slaughtered, and this entails a rise by 2.67% with respect to the first trimester of 2013, during which 10,724,788 heads were slaughtered.
