As reported by Eurocarne, according to the data offered by the ICEX through their statistics service (Estacom), during the first 6 months of year 2013, 819,616 tonnes of meat and meat products have been exported (this entails 7.1% less that during the same period in year 2012) amounting to 2,052.2 million euros (-1.3%).

The explanation for this reduction can be mainly found in the fall registered in the main consignment of the Spanish exports, that has seen the sales fall by 12.2% in terms of tonnes and whose value has fallen by 5.1%, reaching 1,093 million tonnes.
