Despite in December 2011 more pigs slaughtered than in the previous month (+13%), in 2011 fewer animals slaughtered than in the previous year (-5%).

At the annual level, comparing 2011 with 2010, we noticed a significant decrease in the number of eliminated breeding pigs (by more than 42%) and at the same time also a significant increase in the number of young fattened boars (by more than 29%). However, these animals represent only a small number of slaughtered pigs in total, which is why a decrease in the number of fattened pigs (by more than 5%) is more important.
