France, that is the third producer of pigs in Europe, behind Germany and Spain, but followed closely by Poland, showed a new increase in its production in 2016 (+ 1%), which confirms the recovery seen since 2014 (annual average of +0.8%).
Nevertheless, the production in 2016 is still below the level in the decade of 2000. Nevertheless, bearing in mind the census in December 2016, it is expected that pig production drops in 2017.
