Santa Catarina agribusiness continues to increase its participation in the international market. In September, Santa Catarina broke its record with the largest volume of pork shipped in a single month: 57,700 tons were sold to more than 65 countries. These figures are released by the Ministry of Economy and analyzed by the Center of Socioeconomics and Agricultural Planning (Epagri/Cepa).

The revenue from pork exports in September reached US$ 136.3 million, a 40.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The quantity shipped also had a significant increase of 34%.

From January to September this year, Santa Catarina exported 438,300 tons of pork - 12.6% more than in the same period in 2020. The revenue from shipments exceeds US$ 1 billion - a 26.4% growth.

This result is mainly due to the increase in shipments to important markets such as China, Chile, and the Philippines.
