"Salinate de Turda" is a product made from smoked and dried pork, obtained from pieces called ceafă [loin], cotlet [loin], piept [belly] and pulpă [ham], which are salted using a natural brine to which a variety of spices, sugars, and lactic cultures are added, then matured for 5 to 7 days, smoked over hardwood (beech) and matured/dried for 20 to 28 days.

This new designation adds to the list of 1,661 food products already protected. The list of all protected geographical indications is included in the eAmbrosia database.
