Russia may extend the embargo on agricultural products

According to Medvedev, Russia introduced the embargo for a year, that is, until August 8, 2015. Russian subsequent actions will depend on what partners choose to do.

The National Food Security Forum was held last week in Russia for the first time.

During the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said, in reference to the Russian embargo on agricultural products affecting, among others, the European Union, that  Russia introduced the embargo for a year, that is, until August 8, 2015, in response to the actions of European, American and other partners. Russian subsequent actions will depend on what partners choose to do. Medvedev declared, in relation to Russian partners: "Judging by their statements, they still do not want to return to our market and do not plan to, and, well, we are not going to beg."
