Russia is expected to increase meat production

Pork production will increase by 2.6% to 3.9 million tonnes, compared to 3.8 million in 2014.

According to data by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, meat production is expected to reach 13.2 million tonnes (live weight at slaughter) in 2015, vs. 12.9 million tonnes produced in 2014.

The largest increase —by 3.4% to reach 3 million tons— is expected to happen in the beef sector. Pork production will increase by 2.6% to 3.9 million tonnes, compared to 3.8 million in 2014. Finally, poultry production is expected to increase by 1.8%, reaching 5.7 million tonnes.
