On April 20th, the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, presented the plans and initiatives of the 2011 Executive Council on economic, social, and agricultural materials. In the 2011 federal budget, the Russian Government is planning on setting aside more than 150.000 Rubles (3.750 million Euros) for aiding agriculture.

IN addition to this, Rosseljozbank (The Russian Agricultural Bank) and Sberbank (Savings Bank) have set aside another 150.000 million Rubles (3.750 million Euros) for the concession of credit in the agricultural sector.

State support will extend to all kinds of farms, from large agro food complexes to small and medium rural farms. Among others, a decision was made to concede 9.000 million Rubles (225 million Euros) to support swine and poultry farms. Currently, Russian farmers cover ¾ of the country’s needs when it comes to meat proceeding from those species.
