Romania will be able to export live pigs to the Europan Union

The Romanian pig producers have asked, repeatedly, for the live pigs trade authorisation to the EU, because Romania has been free from CSF for more than 8 years.

The European Commission Standing Comittee on Plants, Animals, Foos and Feed gathered last week voted in favour of allowing Romania to export live pigs to the European Union as of the publishing in the Official Journal of the European Union, expected in October 2016, the Minister of Agriculture of Romania, Mr. Achim Irimescu told to Agerpres.

"Achieving this agreement by the European Commission allows Romania to recover the right to export live pigs and pork not only to the EU, but also to third countries", said Irimescu.

The Romanian pig producers have asked, repeatedly, for the live pigs trade authorisation to the EU, because Romania has been free from CSF for more than 8 years.
