As published by the Ministry of Agriculture of Spain in its Foreign News Gazette, the report on the forecast of the agricultural business (2019-2029) drafted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies of Brazil (MAPA) foresees that the most dynamic products in the Brazilian agriculture business in the next decade will be pork, soybean, cotton, cellulose, maize, chicken, milk and sugar.

Both the domestic market and the international demand will be the main growth factors of production in the next 10 years for most of these products.

It is expected that the production of grain increases from 236.7 million tonnes in 2019 to 300 million tonnes in 2029. This implies a growth by 63 million tonnes or 27% (an annual rise by 2.4%) of the current Brazilian production. Regarding meat production (beef, pork and fowl), it must grow by 7M tonnes to meet the growing domestic demand. This entails a global growth by 27.3%.

The domestic market and the exports will be the main growth factors in the next decade. In 2028/2029, 35.5% of the soybean production will be destined to the domestic market. 65.3% of the maize and 49.2% of the coffee will be destined to the domestic consumption. In this way, there will be an important pressure on the increase in the national production. It is expected that something similar happens with meat production. 69% of the fowl production in 2029, 70.7% of that of beef and 81.5% of that of pork will also be consumed domestically. Therefore, although Brazil is a great exporter of several of these products, in the future the domestic market will be predominant.
