Poland: new area subject to restrictions due to ASF

The European Commission has created the “danger area”, subject to restrictions in the counties of Sokolski and Bialystok.

Due to the appearance of another African swine fever (ASF) outbreak on a farm and to the persistent infection in wild boars in the counties of Sokolski and Bialystok, the European Comission has created the “danger area”, subject to restricticions, that includes the municipalities of:

- Krynki, Kuźnica, Sokółka and Szudziałowo in Sokolski.
- Gródek and Michałowo in Bialystock.

The aim of the creation of this new area is to strengthen the surveillance and to reduce the risk of ASF spreading.
