Poland confirms the first ASF outbreak in domestic pigs in 2019

The disease has been detected on a pig farm in the voivodate of Varmia and Masuria.

The presence of African swine fever (ASF) has been detected on a farm with 67 susceptible pigs located in the commune of Gołdap (poviat of Gołdap, voivodate of Varmia and Masuria). The farm is located in a restricted area (the area defined in Part II of the Appendix of the Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/UE).

Last year, 109 outbreaks were confirmed in domestic pigs.
