Poland confirms a new ASF outbreak in domestic pigs

The last ASF outbreak in domestic pigs in Poland was confirmed on January 31st, 2015.

Last Thursday, June 23rd, the Polish health authorities confirmed an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak on a 292-pig farm in the municipality of Hajnówka (Podlaskie). All the animals have been slaughtered, The farm is located in an area under restrictions due to the disease.

It is the fourth ASF outbreak in domestic pigs since February 17th, 2014, when the disease appeared in Poland. The lst utbreak in domestic pigs was confirmed on January 31st 2015.
