He said the Department of Agriculture will continuously provide needed interventions and implement policies that will make the country’s hog industry globally competitive, thus ensuring its continued growth. Last year, the hog industry grew by 1.7 percent, valued at P174.5 billion at current prices. It is the country’s second leading sub-sector behind palay (paddy rice).
