The Philippines has again failed to receive its FMD-free status with vaccination after the Office Internationale des Epizooties (OIE) turned down its request, said National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc President Albert Lim.

Already the Visayas and Mindanao have been certified FMD-free without vaccination by the OIE, but some hog farms in Luzon are still vaccinating against the disease as a precautionary measure. Mr Lim said Batangas province only recently stopped vaccination, but Bulacan province is still vaccinating.
