Paraguay and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization signed three cooperation agreements in this capital Monday linked to food programs worth over one million USD. The documents were signed by Paraguayan Foreign Minister Jorge Lara and Alberto Lopez Meza, FAO representative in Paraguay.

The first agreement refers to the application of a regional participatory approach in implementing the National Plan for Food Security and Sovereignty of Paraguay.

Another program aims to boost agricultural production in urban zones of the Central Department of Paraguay, with the FAO contributing some 344,000 USD for a two-year period.

The third program is related to boosting pork production for families, and its contribution to food security in other countries such as Ecuador and Nicaragua, with an FAO contribution of 400,000 USD.
