The National Quality and Animal Health Service (SENACSA) of Paraguay, together with the private sector, is working on the drafting of the technical documents to be presented before the OIE's Scientific Commission with the aim of obtaining the classical swine fever-free country certification.

The Technical Services CEO, Mr. Primo Ricardo Feltes, said that the aim is to forward the document in July 2015 and, based on normal deadlines, and if the technical process is still OK, the CSF-free status could be obtained in May 2016.

“Since 2001, Paraguay keeps a classical swine fever-free status without vaccination thanks to the work caried out by the SENACSA and the Paraguayan pig producers.”
