North-American Influenza - Pork sales fall 80 percent in Mexico amid Swine-Flu outbreak

Sales of pork products in Mexico have fallen 80 percent since last week because of the swine flu outbreak, the CPM group representing hog farmers told Efe on Wednesday.

Mexico’s pork exports, 95 percent of which go to Japan, have not slowed down, thanks to the fact that Mexican and Japanese authorities agreed not to scale them back due to the fact that there is no risk.
