Netherlands – More piglets and fattening pigs exported in 2009

In 2009, exports of piglets increased by 18.5%. While in 2008 exports reached 5.15 million animals, in 2009 the figure increased to 6.1 million. A total of 50% of the piglet exports were to Germany, 14% to Poland and 12% to Belgium.

In 2009, exports of piglets increased by 18.5%. While in 2008 exports reached 5.15 million animals, in 2009 the figure increased to 6.1 million. A total of 50% of the piglet exports were to Germany, 14% to Poland and 12% to Belgium.

With regard to pigs, exports increased from 4.3 million in 2008 to 4.7 million in 2009 (+8.7%). Germany received 76.5% of these exports, 10% went to Hungary and 6.8% to Poland.
