Mexico starts the exports of pork to China

The start of the exports of pork to China marks a milestone in the Mexican pig industry.

As a result of the commercial negotiations between the governments of Mexico and China, last July 14th the first shipping of Mexican pork to China was sent. It is considered that the Mexican pork exports to China will reach 20-30 tonnes, with a commercial value of 1,500 million Mexican pesos/year. The start of the exports of pork to China mark a milestone in the Mexican pig industry.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), Mr. José Calzada Rovirosa, and the Governor of the state of Sonora, Ms. Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, allowed the exit of a 22-tonnes container of pork from the Mexican company Norson, with 40 years of experience in the production and processing of meat and that exports to USA, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
