The Committee of the Americas on Veterinary Medicines (CAMEVET), a regional project of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), brings together the countries of the Americas with the aim of harmonizing standards, registrations, and controls for veterinary medicines, ensuring their responsible, safe, and effective use.

Before representatives from 16 countries in the Caribbean, Central, and South America, Mexico reaffirmed its commitment to working toward unified health regulations that will allow all countries in the region to have access to high-quality veterinary medicines in a timely manner in order to preserve animal health and food safety.
During the seminar, participating countries reviewed progress on guidelines for testing the efficacy of antiparasitic drugs, good practices in the use of veterinary products, alternative methods for determining the efficacy of antimicrobials, and electronic registration systems.
With this designation, Mexico reinforces its leadership in defining health policies, promoting regional cooperation, and protecting livestock resources from diseases and pests.
