According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) of Mexico, in 2010 Mexico sent 7,000,100 tons of meat to the Korean market, while in 2011 it exported more than twice that, reaching 15 thousand 892 tons as of November of that year.

The expectation is that during 2012 these volumes will increase substantially thanks to the authorization by the Korean authorities of two new Federal Inspection Type (TIF) pants in Jalisco and Sonora. This makes 26 plants that can export to the Asian country.
