The SAGARPA informed that this batch, consisting of 5,772 boxes, is the first one belonging to the 8,500 tonnes purchased by a Federal Inspection Type (TIF) establishment located in the state of Nuevo León for the production of bacon.

The SAGARPA said that in the next two months, 110 more containers, weighing some 2,600 tonnes, will arrive to the same Animal Health Verification and Inspection Point (PVIZI).

The SAGARPA also informed that the entry of these meat products to Mexico adds to the 25.5 tonnes of pork belly that recently arrived from Germany, and that up to now, 12 Mexican companies have initiated the arrangements to import pork from EU countries, mainly Germany, Denmark and Spain.
