Mexico: agricultural exports increase in value

In 2019, agricultural and agro-industrial exports generated US$37.8 billion, an annual increase of 8.59 percent.

In 2019, Mexican agriculture and agro-industry brought in a surplus of $9.1 billion dollars, a figure 2.7 billion dollars higher than that recorded in 2018; representing a historical record, reaching an annual increase of 41.61%.

With regard to agricultural goods, for the period January-December 2019 there was an increase in exports, from US$16.5 billion in 2018 to US$18.1 billion, and a slight decrease in imports, from US$ 13.222 billion to US$ 13.215 billion in 2019.

The meat sector was the most dynamic during the 12 months of 2019, with a positive increase of 19 percent compared to the same period last year.

Noteworthy in 2019 is the increase in the commercial value of pork with an increase of 31.61 percent.
