Last December, the Italian Veterinary Authorities reported an outbreak of vesicular disease in the province of Catanzarro, specifically in Satriano.

Appropriate protection and surveillance areas were established. According to the reference information centre (CERVES) the number of animals affected is 3. With this episode, Italy concludes 2014 with 4 confirmed outbreaks: 1 in Campania (with 50 animals affected), 2 in Basilicata (690 animals), and 1 in Calabria (3 animals).
