The talks were held in Moscow and were devoted to the interaction of the Russian and Costa Rican Veterinary Services. In particular, supplies of animal products from Costa Rican plants to the Customs Union territory were discussed. The Russian party stated that according to the results of the inspection carried out by the CU experts in Costa-Rica in 2010 and materials submitted by the competent authority the Rosselkhoznadzor was going to consider the inclusion of a number of Costa-Rican plants in the list of exporters by agreement among the CU members.

At the same time the Costa-Rican party informed the Rosselkhoznadzor that the use of growth promotors for productive animals was prohibited in the country. However the Rosselkhoznadzor emphasized that despite this fact the imported products intended for the CU market would be monitored for different parameters according to the laid down standards.

The Rosselkhoznadzor also mentioned that the Costa-Rican Veterinary Service must follow up all the amendments made to the Customs Union and Russian Federation veterinary law and in its turn to inform the plants and animal product suppliers about these changes.
