According to data from agricultural organizations, the Russian Agriculture Ministry has reported an increase of 8.4% in the production of pigs for slaughter. During the first 8 months of this year they reached 1.97 million tonnes (153,600 more than in the same period of 2014).
The largest increase in production (live weight) took place in Kursk (38,400 t), followed by Belgorod (24,400), Pskov (17,900 t) and Tver (15,200 t), while it decreased in the regions of Orel, Samara , Omsk and Republic of Tatarstan.
