Increased number of confirmed ASF cases in Italy

There have been 20 confirmed cases since January 7 (see Figure 1). All cases have been located in the provinces of Alessandria and Genoa, within the infected area.

Active carcass searches are being implemented, subdividing the territories involved into a 1 km² grid, in order to standardize search methods and weekly reporting of results.

In addition, information flows and the integration of national information systems have been optimized to allow constant and updated monitoring of the epidemiological situation and the implementation of measures.
