Increase in the European pork exports in the first trimester of 2017

The European pork exports have grown by 7,7% in the first trimester of 2017 with respect to the same period in 2016, exceeding a million tonnes. 

China, the main destination of the European pork exports, reached 398,876 tonnes (-1% with respect to the same period in 2016; 39.5% of the annual quota). The increase in the exports to Japan, with 104,085 tonnes (+14%); Hong Kong, with 96,972 tonnes (+14%) and South Korea, with 73,897 tonnes (+42%) stand out.
