Brazil: Pig slaughtering grew 4.9% in the first quarter of 2021

In the first quarter of 2021, the slaughter of pigs reached 12.53 million heads, representing a growth of 4.9% compared to the same period in 2020 and up 0.2% compared to the 4th quarter of 2020. The total carcass weight was recorded at 1.15 million tons, an increase of 7.2% compared to the 1st quarter of 2020 and up 2.5% compared to the previous quarter.
